The company call immediately; sometimes this is not good...I was quote a price; a special two movers for $69/hr. When they were done with my bill my $100 deposit was not applied to my over all bill, I was charge two extra hours and mileage to the site when I was told it wasn't; they said state allows for drive time- so if there is an accident and they sit for several hours you pay for that time- even if you did not cause the accident. They were an hour early, I was not in the area but was able to make it by the agreed original time - but I was still charged for that hour. They showed up at 8:00am and finished at 1:00pm and was bill for 7 hours; I had to pay before they would remove my items from the truck; most would considered this held hostage...I am letting my credit card company deal with the details - get am email of the exact details or paid twice as much easy....
Worst Moving Company Ever!!!!

Well I would like to start off by saying that this is the worst company I have ever dealt with and their business practices are truly unethical. Well my experience starts off when Linda calls me on Feb. 21st, 2011 to ask if I required moving service. I decided I'd give them a chance and was given a quote of $195. I signed the quote on Feb. 23rd that she had E-mailed to me detailing what they were going to offer to me for the amount of $195 to move my things on Feb. 26th from a 1 bedroom apartment to my new 2 bedroom apartment. The mover arrived late at 8:45 and did not start working until 9:15. They worked like snails. After 2 hours of work, they managed to move 1 bed w/o frame, 1 frig, 1 couch, 2 book shelves, and a few boxes. I was extremely upset because I was paying to move such little furniture. I had asked them to move my TV stand and they told me it would be an additional $75 because it had glass. They wanted to charge an additional for everything. I decline the service at that point and demanded they start driving to my new apartment. When I got to the new apartment the mover was on the phone for 20 mins inside the truck making another appointment. After he gets out of the truck he takes me in to my new apartment and demand that I pay him $300. I told him that I only agreed to $195 that Linda quoted me and not the $300 he requested. He informed me that he will hold my belongings as hostage if I did not sign the paperwork to give him the $300 dollars. This is the worst experience I have ever had with a company.

Unfortunately for me, US Van Lines subcontracted with these guys for my move. They were unprofessional from the very start asking for a tip for packing my items so they wouldn't break, eating the pizza provided them out of my fine china, helping themselves to one of my library books of a personal nature and reading it at lunch....all of this without asking. Did I mention the mess they made in the bathroom? Sure, I was moving, but I would expect an 8 year old boy to not leave such a mess. It was all very disrespectful. They packed the remotes sold with the sound system along with the cable remote and some patio furniture which they had been told NOT to pack. They claimed they would bring them back, but of course that didn't happen. I was laughingly told on the phone when I asked about them that I could mail them back myself. I never complain, but sometimes you have to make an exception.
1 mover depot sucks and will not have any respect for your time

They Showed up late Eli the manager yelled at me over the phone. On moving day I call Eli by 1:05pm to ask where my moving crew is. He tells me the will call me in 30min with an ETA. I call Eli at 1:45 to tell him that i have not heard from his crew yet. He tells me to call them directly. I find out that the crew is still 45 minutes away and not finished with their last job. I call Eli and tell him that I would rather find another mover and he proceed to yell the following things at me: 1. No other moving will come to you in 40 minutes. "We move hundreds...no thousands of people every year" (i doubt it) 2. If we cancel now he will still bill us the $100 non-refundable deposit (um you were 3 hours late mother f#cker, you failed to deliver services based on the timeline YOU stated) 3. (yelling at the top of his voice) DOn't Push me!!! Don't push me!!!(this is a phone conversation so please dont mistake any physical violence is happening) 4. Call my office on Monday I am with my family, then hangs up. Now my understanding is that if a company cannot provide a service at the time specified it is a breach of contract. Rather than accept that he could not deliver services under the agreed upon timeline and try to RECTIFY the situation he yells at his customers and holds them hostage because he has their credit card number. Reluctantly I let the moving crew show up 3 hours after the time quoted by Eli. Do not use one mover depot. A deaf-must chimpanzee with a metal spike throught its head could deliver better customer service than Eli. I will be posting this review to as many sites related to moving as possible to stop people from using one mover depot in Gardena, Ca. I hope this helps someone else avoid the same mistake. I only hope that I do not run into the same "creative" after the fact billing charges that other people have experienced.

Threatened at the destination

STAY away from this company. When we got to our house and the "Foreman" Eyal Segacovichi upped the fee by $500 and proceeded to tell me and my mother to "Shut the F*#@ up, pay the money or he would close the truck and take all our stuff. It was extortion. Do not use this company...Amos was also a chronic liar
Don't Use This Company

Mover reviewed by Hannah on 02/06/09
Don't use this company. I didn't get a confirmation call the day before. I had to contact them (which is a pain when your internet has already been turned off and you have to pay 411 to connect you). They were not careful with my things. If you have already booked with them, go out and buy a ton of bubble wrap and wrap anything you don't want scratched - especially mirrors, bed posts, and legs of chairs, because blankets don't cut it when you stuff is being slammed around. For example, instead of going through the garage that they had the garage door opener for, they stacked my things on the dolly, and pushed my things into the heavy metal door next to the garage to open it. They rolled the dolly down the driveway and crashed my stuff into my other things leaned against the truck (taking no consideration for the fact that there were glass things leaning against the truck). These people were also not your traditional large, strong movers. Very small guys. I don't feel like the were dragging their feet intentionally too much, but they were too small to get very much done quickly. This is not what I want to pay for when I'm paying so much by the hour. You might as well hire a few random people off the street to help you move as long as you've got materials and a truck to move it in. Also, ask VERY specific questions about what is included in in their price. They will try to screw you over when they show up at your door. You might have to argue the day of, so be prepared. Also, the customer service after-the-fact ...well nevermind, there is none. I'm a calm person who hates conflict, and I had a screaming fight with them over the phone afterwards. They told me that I was lying about the condition of my things afterwards because my stuff was damaged befrore they moved it. Yeah, I don't think so! Basically, they are horrible. Avoid at all costs. They are mean and your belongings deserve to be treated better.
Tried to keep my deposit even though I cancelled 18 days before my move

Mover reviewed by Denise Knight on 01/20/09
On December 9th I canceled my move that was scheduled on the 27th. After not receiving a confirmation of my cancellation I called and Lisa said the email never came through but not to worry she would cancel it for me. Then on my moving day they showed up! When I said I had canceled they called into their office and put me on the phone with a guy named Amos. What his real name is I'm not sure of because he changed it a few times over the course of the following days when I was trying to resolve this. Bottom line is this guy is a whack job. He has lied and made all kinds of stories up, all just to keep a lousy $100 deposit! Even though he claims he never got my cancellation he called incessantly to the leasing office where I was moving and it got so bad they threatened to sue him for harassment if he called again. Following is his response to my BBB complaint: One Mover Depot's Final Response - Posted 01/09/2009 Eli the dispatcher spoke to miss Denise 2 times once on the 12/24 because of the holidays he called to confirm the job for 12/26 but Denise reschedule to 12/27 the second call was on 12/26 since Eli couldn't reach Denise he called bobby her secretary. bobby did 3way and called Denise he confirm the job for 12/27 while bobby was on the second line. there is no point on sending a truck with all the expenses knowing that the customer cancel we believe that she mix with 2 companies because when the movers got there she said that she was waiting for another moving company "American trusted movers".
Do not use 1 Mover Depot for any move

Mover reviewed by Jim Holtz on 10/15/08
The movers were hired to pack up an apartment in Long Beach, drop off a Piano at a place in Hermosa Beach and place the remaining items at a Public Storage Location in El Segundo on March 23, 2008 We contacted 1 Mover Depot and told them all aspects of the move including the fact a piano would be part of the move. The movers informed us of a $700 surcharge for the piano at the time of the move. After the movers drove our property to the final destination at Public Storage, the foreman of the moving company convinced us to use their storage facility instead of Public Storage under false pretenses. The foreman specifically told us if we used their storage facility, we could freely move our items in and out of their location at 1 Mover Depot during their business hours. The foreman closed up their truck and ready to leave, then had us sign all the forms before he showed us the final bill for the move. It was then clear to us that the mover added numerous fraudulent and padded charges to the bill. The foreman threatened us they would confiscate everything in the truck unless we signed that we accepted their bill and the first month storage We found out the following Monday that we were not allowed to access our property at their location. This was unacceptable to us so we asked them to return everything back to our original storage location in El Segundo. The owner told us we would have to forfeit the balance of the $250 monthly storage fee we paid in advance, and pay him an additional $364 flat rate to move our property back to our original intended destination. The owner then told us to take them to court if we do not agree with the charges. I disputed the charge with the credit card company, but it was reversed when the movers altered my remarks to verify their claim that I was a satisfied costumer

My husband had arranged and scheduled to have the One Mover Depot to show up on a saturday morning between 8-10am. This has been confirmed 2 days prior to scheduled date by the company dispatcher named Eli. On the actual day of the move even as it got past 10:30am, no one showed up and no phone call. I urged my husband to contact them and sure enough they've decided not to come. According to Eli, the dispatcher unfortunately for us, there was some sort of mistake and it was double booked. There's no truck available for us! What really got us upset was the fact that they did not even contact us ahead of time, and no apology was even offered. He was very nonchalant about the whole situation and said that one of the trucks "may" become available around 2pm, but no guarantee. We were so furious and questioned why they haven't even attempted to contact us about this last minute crap until we tried ot get in contact first. He added, if we can't wait, "go to internet and find another moving company, that's not my problem!" Moving alone is already a stressful event and having to go through what we did was unacceptable. I'm definitely going to report to the BBB. I've moved numerous times in my life and this is something I have never encountered before where the moving company doesn't show up, nor bother to contact you!
