They moved us from Seattle to Phoenix

I cannot begin to cover all the bad these crooks put upon me and my family! The move started in July of 2009 and there is still an entire room of stuff in storage in Seattle and they held my belongins hostage until I pais=d them (in cash;money order) an additional 3k in over charges for weight. They claimed the weight and would cahrge us an additional $500 to have the trucks weighed...Monsters so stay away from these crooks at all cost. Our property was severly damaged and they were 2 day late with the pick-up...Transamerica had a B+ rating by the BBB but even the BBB is slow in acting on their rerating of this fraudulent company. They now have a B-, but have added a bunch of fake stuff on their website. STAY AWAY...
Beware! Lost $10K of my goods. Go somewhere else.

I am missing 48+ boxes of custom-printed greeting cards (200 to a box), 6 large boxes of custom-printed postcards (500 to a box), an Akai reel-to-reel tape deck, and a very large collection of 200-250 recorded 7" reels. These were never delivered though I was charged 30 cents a pound and $960 per month for their moving and storage. A 25-inch portable TV set was also destroyed during the move. I'm out easily $10,000 besides what they charged me to move and store the stuff. The men doing the moving were cool -- they worked their butts off (aside from completely destroying a 25" TV). Whomever was in charge of taking care of my stuff before it was delivered should be prosecuted. And they DON'T return phone calls! Also, be sure to get charges in writing -- these guys charged me $588 for tape and bubble wrap...maybe $50 bucks worth were used...they waived the $200 piano moving charge upon pickup but denied such upon delivery...watch out for hidden "fees." All in all, go somewhere else. Of course, once I am done with them, they may not be in business any longer. Between the complaints filed with the US DOT, the CA PUC, the BBB, and the various other agencies regarding such companies, you may see these guys behind bars (hopefully).
Bad Bad Bad...Don't get near them!!

Our things were picked up on Aug. 3rd and we still are fighting with them to get them. The final price was over a 200% markup, and when we asked them to reweigh, they refused. We did our research and learned that legally we only had to pay 110% (the quote plus 10) to finally get our stuff, and the remaining amount due would go on a 30 day billing cycle. TransAmerica breached the contract by still refusing to deliver. It is now extortion. Our story goes on for days. Please don't go near this company. Do your research before deciding. TransAmerica Moving Co. is a "company" full of thieves!
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!

I wish I had read these reviews beforehand so I didn't call this company. They showed up close to the time they were supposed to, only to bang into our walls, and completely destroy two cabinets. Break our piano leg, bang up our beautiful kitchen chairs, and much more. But guess what? If you read on the back of the contract in mice print, you will see that they are not responsible for ANYTHING that happens. Breakage, disappearing items, nothing. Naively it never occurred to me that they had NO responsibility for their actions! How they can get away with this is beyond me.... STAY AWAY from this company!!!!!!

Absolutely horrible company. Charged us about 240 percent higher than quoted. Broke a whole list of items with no compensation. Arrived late to pick-up and delivered late. Rude driver! Broke things as taking them inot the house. We took them to small claims court and won. They are criminals!!
RUN!!!!!!

It has been a week and our items have not arrived at our new home yet. They now say that the truck will come tomorrow morning. They wouldn't give us a delivery date, wouldn't return our phone calls, and kept dodging our questions. They quoted us $2500 for the move. 4 hours before the close of business they try to call us and tell us that it will actually be $8000 for the move and that we need to provide it in cash, cashiers check or money order the next morning. They told me three times prior to that they would take American Express. The first two deposits I made were American Express. One for an intial down payment and the other was half of the $2500 estimate. Whatever you do please stay away from this company and save yourself the extreme hassel and stress it will cause you. They are not an honest and reliable company. They get you by giving you very low estimates that end up being several times higher when they arrive. If you use them and have problems with them get the weigh station records from them when they arrive. Legally they have to provide the records and it will show if they have been honest about the weight they have given you. Don't be afraid to get the police involved if they cannot provide accurate records.
