I scheduled a move last August from San Diego to Atlanta, Georgia. Packing alone was almost $5k and my move ended up being almost $16k WITHOUT any appliances or cars. They took 16 hours to pack a 3 bdrm. house, & ran out of supplies! 3 weeks later and, to our horror! * ½ of our things were LEFT in Cali. in their warehouse!! OMG! * SOOO MANY things were damaged! Our losses are in excess of $7k conservatively!!! * Many items were separated so we were without ANY beds or tables, and our sofa for an extra 4 weeks!!!! * Most of the boxes were not labeled so unloading was a NIGHTMARE! I had to stand at the base of the truck ramp as the guys cut into each box to try to figure out what room they should be placed. * Our home has 3 levels and because room items were mixed together, unpacking was twice the work. We had outdoor items like clay pots put in with fragile indoor items, inexcusable! We called our contact person (David) and informed him half our stuff was missing and we could already see there was excessive breakage and that the breakage could have been prevented. He (David) indicated that until we finalized our damages, he'd provide a 20% discount on the cost of the professional packing. Didn't happen. After 4 more weeks, shockingly, the driver called at 7pm on a Wed. evening and wanted to deliver THE NEXT DAY!!! I asked the driver to wait until Fri. to clear my schedule and to protect the hardwoods and railing (they still managed to scratch the floors BTW). To put this into perspective, a $3,300 alabaster pendent was put sideways in a box with 6 pieces of newsprint on the bottom and absolutely nothing else. Of course it broke! Expensive furniture, wall-hangings, vases and pots, a glass table top, lamps... all damaged. The offer for the delay was a mere $700 and for damages $1,000. I paid more than this in feeding their crews and in tips!!! BREAKAGE WAS NOT ACCIDENT BUT NEGLIGENT!
