They are a flat rate company. They just don't tell you all the hidden charges. First, they were 5 hours late. Don't worry, they gave us 20% discount for that. Be prepared when they give you the final bill. They try to charge you for travel time...for their truck to get to your place. Then they have you sign that you will be charged for packing materials, if needed, "you know...just maybe tape". As the flat rate clock is ticking, they wrap your items like they are being mailed. When you get the final bill, you will find they charge $20 each to use their moving blankets and that was the most expensive roll of tape I have ever seen. To move a bedroom set 7 minutes away, they tried to charge us, $380.00. We refused to pay that and had to argue with "The Boss" on the phone. We ended us just paying for the "Flat Rate" of an hour and a half. Stay clear of this company.

They advertise with their name, Flat Rate Movers. They are anything but flat rate. They gave me a price per hour for three men and a truck. After signing a ream of papers, they started moving me......and repacking many things I had already packed. All furniture had to be wrapped in their packing blankets.....plastic bags had to be in boxes....and clothes had to be in wardrobe boxes....and you get to pay extra for the privilege. Not packed the way they would like? They'll charge you for the material to re-pack it and the clock is ticking away at a flat rate per hour. It took six hours to move me four blocks away. They were friendly and professional....kind of like buying you dinner and then finding out they're a date rapist. But you're stuck and have to move out that day so they have you over a barrel (which, if they had them, would probably cost $200 for the use of it).
