STAY AWAYOverall Rating
Mover reviewed by Cristina on 08/09/11

The seller was very adamant is showing me how great they were and how no complains have been posted to the BBB. She failed to mention they have NUMEROUS complains with the US Department of Transportation. The pick-up was uneventful, eventhough I should have been a little suspicious when they showed up in a truck with a paper wign taped to the side!!! The foreman told me to contact them 2 weeks prior to my delivery date to make sure everything was in order and that that way I was going to have my household in Indianawhen I needed it. I signed papers (you know, sign here and here, when you are exhausted and not paying attention) and what they are making you sign is a disclaimer that they are not responsible for anything!!! The date you give them for delivery is actually a time-reference as they can take up to 30 BUSINESS days to deliver your goods (but NO-ONE tells you that when they are sweetening you up to pay more than for the other movers because they are soo "professional" (Ha!) They do not respond by phone or email and we are on day 14 after "my scheduled delivery date", I'm renting an empty house, had to buy a news bed and a table as not to eat and sleep on the floor and these people do not have a clue as to when they will deliver my goods. STAY AWAY FROM THEM PLEASE!!!!

Terrible, Deceitful and Unethical Company‎Overall Rating

What a nightmare!! When Susie from Elite Moving & Storage came to my house and did a complete walk through and full inventory I was quoted a price of $1800.00 which came to 600cf. This price was to move my belongings from my 2 bedroom condo from Vegas to Oregon. On move day an "Enterprise" rental truck with the Company name tapped to the drivers side door showed up. As soon as the foreman Yanni (also owner of the Comany) showed up it became a nightmare. As soon as all my belongings were packed onto the truck I was told I was over my estimate of 600cf and it was now 900cf and the price was raised $1000.00. At this point I had no choice but to pay it as my children and I were leaving the next day to drive to Oregon and did not have time to find another mover in 24hours as Elite Moving and Storage was well aware of. When my things arrived in Oregon they sent 1 guy and his girlfriend who complained about how heavy my stuff was to unload the truck and it took over 4 hours for them to unload. I still do not understand how I ended up with 50% more funiture and boxes after a complete walk through was done. I was also charged $150 for "tape" and for packing a TV and picture into a box. BEWARE of this company because as soon as they get your things on the truck they will find a way to charge extra. Elite Moving & Storage is the most decceitful & unethical company I have ever dealt with. Please look at www.theelitemovers.info before you decide to use this company. I wish I would have researched better and used a Reputable Moving Company. They are worse than 1 star!!

NEVER NEVER NEVEROverall Rating

NEVER NEVER NEVER!!! Let me give you the short version: 1) We were charged 1,000$ more than we were originally quoted 2) We were originally told that we could have the delivery date we requested then 1/2 way through the truck being loaded we were told that "No, it could be up to 2 weeks for the delivery" 3) BUT we could have it delivered the day we wanted IF we pay an extra $500...then "No, it can't be delivered that day" because of driving/trucking laws (so we had to pay for an extra night in a hotel since we'd arrive to the new home w/o beds) 4) We were charged almost $400 in packing tape and bubble wrap (and they only secured 1/2 of our boxes - towards the end they were just tossing things on the truck) 5) When the items were delivered furniture was broken, scratched, damaged and just horribly mistreated. Finally - a month after the move and we called the office to complain - when the owner called us we were told that we initialed for everything at the beginning (No, at the end) and the owner FLAT OUT TOLD US WE WERE LYING!! If you value your belongings, money and peace of mind you'll NEVER use these people!

Where's my stuff?-nobody knows, nobody caresOverall Rating

WORST COMPANY EVER.. Chose this company because the man on the phone for the estimate seemed very nice and professional. And to be fair, the gentlemen who picked up the load were also very nice. However, there's only ever one person who answers the phone at this company. Furthermore, the elaborate paper work provided ensures that this company has no obligation to do anything for you. They don't have to pick up your stuff when they say they will, they don't have to deliver it when they say they will, and if anything is lost or stolen they're not liable. With this company, you pay them to maybe move your stuff when they get around to it. Additionally, once they have your stuff you can't contact them to ask any questions. They have a button on their automated menu stating that they don't know where your stuff is and someone will call you 24 hours before it is delivered-sometime in the next month we hope. If you try to contact the one person who answers the phone there to ask him why you haven't received any word in 3 weeks, he will ask you if you've listened to option number 5-as in "we don't know where your stuff is and don't call us". All of this is protocol for them, and every time I express confusion that a company can operate this way-they explain that this is standard for moving companies. I find it hard to believe that no one has thought of a better business plan: charge more than these idiots, pick up and deliver on time or discount the move, build an excellent reputation for not steeling people's stuff, and people will gladly pay a little extra so that they don't have to sleep on the floor for a month.

This company is quite possibly the worst in the business, in my opinion. When they arrived to move my goods they triple charged from the estimate. When I spoke to the manager, Roy, he tried to strong arm me on the phone. This really goes back to the days of vegas being run by the mafia. When they finally arrived, appx 1 month later then they were supposed to, they demanded cash for my goods. During the entire wait process no information would be provided as to when they would arrive. I had over 6,000 worth of stuff stolen or broken by this company, and now they are threatening to sue me because of my complaint with my credit cards. I wouldn't trust this company to help me move my bowels, let alone my goods.

http://moving-company-reviews.blogspot.com/2007/04/our-negative-experience-with-elite.html I found this website and posted on it leaving my full story so please check it out... this company was most unprofessional, damaged a good amount of my stuff, arrived with my goods nearly a month after the original specified delivery date, the office manager named Roy who they refer me to wont return any of my calls or messages, and the cost more than doubled from their original phone quote which was very accurate as to what I was moving. do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY!!!!

Elite Moving and Storage is Run by Con ArtistsOverall Rating
Mover reviewed by Leslie M. on 09/23/08

I had a small move which Suzie, the owner's wife, guaranteed wouldn't exceed $1600 as long as the weight was under 3000 lbs. The weight ended being under 2200 lbs, and approximately enough furniture and boxes to fill - at most - a studio apartment. When the Elite movers arrived the foreman said that they wouldn't move my things for less than $2600, which was $1000 more the max of $1600 I had been quoted. To justify this inflated price, Damien said my belongings would take up 600 cubic feet, which exceeded the 429 cf in the Order for Service. Therefore, they wouldn't ship my things for less than $2600. I was lucky - I didn't have to move out of my home on that day. I was able to find a reputable, HONEST mover the next day. The rep came to my home and gave me a binding contract, FOR UNDER $2000. When I told the rep about Elite's estimate of 600 cubic feet, he laughed and said that my shipment wouldn't take even half of that space. The movers came several days later and I'm happy to say that all of my things were picked up on time and delivered on time - in perfect shape. The rep also gave me some good advice. He said NEVER go with a moving company that uses cubic feet - or lists it in any way on the service order. In my case, I saw it on the Order for Service and asked Suzie about it. She assured me that it was just there for their own information and would have no impact on the price - that my shipment would be by WEIGHT ONLY. I now realize that Elite puts cubic feet in the Order for Service, in parens, so they can use it once at your home to justify jacking up the price, just in case you happen to know how much your shipment weighs - as I did - thereby preventing them from inflating the weight to jack up the price.

They gauged, scratched and/or marred every piece of wood furniture we owned. They destroyed our lamps, lawn mower and billiard table. They refuse to pay us what their bogus 'insurance' company offered ($400 and change for over $7000 damage). Our stuff was in storage for 6 weeks. It was obvious when we received it that the promise of "climate controlled" storage was a joke -- every carton was strained and every taped seam was distressed. Our move was a year ago. We are still waiting for the 'insurance' settlement, which Elite refuses to pay. Stay away from these evil people!

I TOO have had a TERRIBLE experience with this moving company. In April of 2007 ALL of my furniture was delivered.... BROKEN ALL OF IT BROKEN. They STILL have not compensated us for ANY OF THIS. We have 3 small children, and have NO furniture to sit in.. put them to bed in etc. THIS IS THE BIGGEST SCAM EVER. They have TERRIBLE insurance that is not even VALID. We are STILL struggling to get ONE PENNY out of this LAME LAME LAME moving company just so that we can replace beds and stuff for our kids. PLEASE MOVE ON... DO NOT USE THESE UN CAPABLE MOVERS.

Please use Elite Moving and Storage in Las vegas if you do not like your stuff. If this is the case you will do fine with this company. Also feel free to use this moving company if you would like a higher price on the day you move. This company is notorious with not only customers but also insurance companies for quoting lower prices on the estimate day and on move day they tell you the move will be quite a bit higher, they also are known for throwing all your items, breakable or not into boxes and making sure they are broken when you receive them.So if all of this is just fine with you then please feel free to use this moving company. Google, Elite Moving and Storage Las Vegas before you sign with them.

Suzie also told us that we had 15,000 pounds and that the move with the entire home being packed would cost 8,000 dollars. Everything seemed good so we decided to use Elite moving and storage. MOVE DAY THE REAL STORY- OZ THE FOREMAN SHOWED UP WITH HIS PACKERS AND PRECEDED TO TELL MY HUSBAND AND I THAT BY LOOKING AROUND OUR MOVE WAS NOW 15,000 DOLLARS AFTER TWO HOURS OF HAGGLING WE AGREED TO 9,000 DOLLARS. The packers began packing. After they filled two trucks with our stuff the foreman came in and told us that they did not have any more room in the trucks and that we would have to finish packing and moving the rest of our stuff. UNPACKING OUR BROKEN HOUSEHOLD GOODS- Our stuff that was supposed to take two days to pack took 8 hours, when our boxes and furniture arrived to Texas the real nightmare began. There were so many boxes of broken things that I had to contact the insurance company to place a claim. There were glass shelves in with wood furniture, my cd’s and videos were dumped into boxes and broken and scratched up. Before the first truck was empty I already had a page and a half of broken and scratched up furniture. I have pictures too. While opening the boxes we found that the boxes were the size of a small refrigerator box and was loaded with anything they thought they could throw in the box. The boxes were full of lamps, glass shelves, cd's clothes, melted candles. My jewelry box was dumped and jewelry was everywhere. The move was so stressful. Our family and friends had to come help us pack what was left in the house which consisted of another truck load of things. I have tons of photos if you are interested in seeing them to help with a move decision. Please feel free to email me at cynzzzz4@yahoo.com for pics.
