MOVERS BEWARE!!!

I booked my move with Hibernian Moving and Storage on March 20 for my move the last weekend in June. I received my order for service and was assured that 3 men and 1 truck would arrive at my door between the hours of 8-10am on Saturday, June 28th. I thought all was secure. To my great fortune an event arose the same morning of my move so I was left to call Hibernian and see if I could move back the time of pickup from 8-10am to 1-3pm. This call was made yesterday – June 23rd – I was assured this would not be a problem and sent a final confirmation with the new time. About 3 hours later, an agent called me back and informed me that they are no longer servicing the Massachusetts area and they apologize for the inconvenience. INCONVENIENCE?! Are they serious?! My move is 4 days away and I am without a moving company. No one called to inform me of this change. Had I not called with a request to change the time of pick-up I would have sat all morning waiting for movers and a truck that was never going to show up. This is terrible customer service and professionalism. I do not know how this company manages to stay in business if this is the way they treat their customers. I asked to speak with a manager – who did call me back within the hour – but he was of no help. I asked if they were referring their customers to a new company? NO. I asked if there was a way for me to be grandfathered into this new policy since my move was this week? NO. I asked if they were going to compensate me for the extra fees I might now incur due to trying to find a moving company on such short notice? NO. I’ve called over 10 moving companies last night and today – only 1 company has availability this weekend and because of the closeness in time from the request to my move they are quoting me $30 more an hour! I can not stress this enough... DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY – MOVERS BEWARE!!!
