HUGE SCAM

Julian's Van Lines did my move January 29th 2010 and thats when the nightmare began. Like every other review i also was severely over charged and the door at my old apartment destroyed. They sent me 3 spanish guys in Budget truck that barely spoke English (not what i call professional). When i called the company to complain they never answered the phone. They didn't return my 8 phone calls, voicemails, and e-mails. Once someone finally answered i got introduced to the worst receptionist alive - Ofra. So rude and unhelpful. Refused to give me any contact information for anyone that could help me. She told me she couldn't talk to me and hung up. I had to have my mom call and she managed to get a name for the person supposedly in charge of their "claims department". Sam is the delightful person in charge of their joke of a claim's department. He is just as rude and unhelpful. Didn't call me back for 3 weeks. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and Julian's Van Lines of course has never responded. So not only was i overcharged for the move but i also have never been able to collect my security deposit on my old apartment since Julian's has never replaced the door. I called and talked to Sam yesterday to get an update and Sam called me a liar about my complaint and said they weren't responsible for anything. He even had the nerve to say he thought i scammed them (don't know how he came up with that one since they got their money from me)! I am going to have to take them to court to resolve this. Absolutely do not do business with this company. They give a low quote to get your business and front on their website as a solid company but its a huge scam. If you have an ongoing issue with them that you think will get resolved give up on that dream and just take them to court.

They dropped my washing machine, then charged me $300 more than their quote to cover their anticipated reimbursement expense. I had even packaged, taped up, and moved most of my belongings--they only had to move the furniture and still charged $300 more than the estimate they gave, which had included more stuff. I am still waiting to be reimbursed for the washing machine, which was totaled, after a ridiculously onerous "claims" process which involved a third party company, a notary, lots of phone calls and emails, and lots of stonewalling.
Everything went wrong.

Heirloom furniture badly damaged. Custom-made pieces lost. Damaged our apartment during delivery. Driver refused to give a copy of the invoice listing the damage to my wife, who oversaw delivery, meaning that our claim with the insurance company may be rejected. Tony, their sales rep, is very nice and very patient. Their sub-contracted drivers are the worst. Avoid at all costs.

These movers didn't show up on the right day even though I called earlier in the week to confirm the date in their system. They made me sign a contract with price provisions that had never been discussed even though I asked the sales rep to list any possible fees that they might charge. The movers delivered over a week after their promised delivery date and a few items of furniture were broken. The moving crew that packed us and took our stuff was very professional; however the crew that delivered our stuff rude and didn't bring any of their own tools to reassemble our furniture. Their office staff was rude and unresponsive after the initial contacts with the sales rep. They are not worth the money. You should stay away from them.

Their service at delivery was a nightmare, they showed up over 3 hours late, came up with exhorbitant new charges at delivery. Get an honest moving company who will give realistic estimates and will not fleece you at the end. Definitely NOT recommended.

IF I WERE YOU I WOULD CALL YOUR LAWYER AND GET HIM READY BECAUSE THIS COMPANY IS SKETCHY. I AM STILL WAITING ON THEM TO RETURN MY CALL AND TELL ME WHAT IS GOING TO TAKE PLACE WITH MYSELF MOVING MY OWN FURNITURE BECAUSE THE TRUCK DRIVER SHOWED UP WITH NO HELP, SO GUESS WHO HAD TO DO IT I DID, THEY WOULD NOT EVER TELL ME WHAT WAS GOING ON WITH MY STUFF, I GOT THE RUN AROUND EVERY TIME, THEY WERE 2 WEEKS LATE, NEVER LIVED UP TO ANYTHING THEY SAID THEY WOULD DO, I HAVE EVERYTHING FROM DAY ONE DOCUMENTED, SO IF ANYONE WANTS TO SEE THERE TRACK RECORD FOR LONG DISTANCE MOVE I WILL SHOW YOU, YOU ARE BETTER OFF PAYING A LITTLE MORE, THEN TO GO THROUGH THE HELL THAT I DID. I HAD MY FURNITURE PICKED UP ON THE 14TH OF AUGUST AND IT WAS DELIVERED ON THE 8TH OF SEPTEMBER. I TO THIS DAY AM STILL MISSING PIECES OF MY COUCH THAT WAS CUSTOM MADE, STILL WAITING FOR A PHONE CALL BACK, AND HAVING TO PAY OUT OF POCKET TO HAVE MY COUCH CLEANED BECAUSE THEY TOOK ALL MY PILLOWS AND BACKING OUT OF THERE BAGS AND STUFFED THEM INTO PLACES SO THEY COULD SAVE ROOM, AND SCREW THE COMPANY THAT WAS DRIVING THE TRUCK. ANY ONE WHO WANTS TO LEARN ANYTHING SEND ME AN EMAIL AND i WILL BE HAPPY TO SHOW YOU EVERYTHING.THEY ARE NOTHING THAT IS SAYS ON THERE WEBSITE, THEY ARE A BROKER AND THE TRUCK DRIVER WORKS FOR 13 COMPANIES, WHICH MAKES HIM A SUB, THEY LIE!
