We hired movers to arrive at 10:00 am on 4/17/10 to move from Mountain View to Sunnyvale about a mile and a half total. We were told this would be no problem and quoted 55 dollars an hour for min of 2 hours and there were no hidden fees. We got a call on friday night asking if they would be able to arrive at 9 instead of ten but due to scheduling we needed them at ten. Saturday morning they showed up at 7:30AM and called us on our phones more than once to get us to let them in. We called the owner Mohaz who stated that the dispatcher messed up the times and the movers would have to start at 8am. We insisted he stick to the contract that we had for a 10:00am move. He was telling me that he would send me a bottles of wine and gift certificates to compensate for the early arrival. He tried to bribe his way into moving us early. We agreed they could start at 9am. When the movers arrived they started to explain that they charged 35 dollars for bubble wrap and moving - they tried to add on all of these extra fees that we were not told about including a 110 dollar per MILE! moving fee. We just about had it with this scaming company. The movers explained that the T.V we had 50 inch would for sure be scratched and they told us about the fee for moving that as well. Mohaz would not answer his phone after this, surprise surprise. I want to file this complaint and let them know it will not stand.

Stay away from this bait and switch company. They more than doubled the price we were quoted for a short move. They add crazy hidden fees for packing tape and other things they don't tell you. They add time and a half for "overtime" and diving time was "doubtime". They load your stuff and then force you to pay half before they unload. This was a total bait and switch scam. However, the movers should up on time, they were awesome and fast and they were a pleasure to work with. We paid about what we would have paid for a premium service. However, the bait and switch left a really bad feeling in our mouth. Be careful with this group. We paid $1,800 to move 3/4 of one mile to a new home. They worked from 8am to 7pm with a 15 min break.
Stay away from Champions Movers

I had a terrible experience with this moving company. To summarize: 1) They gave me a quote (Estimate # W344454) and then on the day of the move, they did not honor it. Basically the estimate that was quoted was for a fixed cost move, but on the day of the move after the movers arrived, they told me they cannot honor their own estimate 2) They promised me that the packing materials like shrink wrap, bubble wrap, blankets would be covered by them. But the movers starting asking for $25 and $15 and $40 for packing every single item. It was very stressful and annoying 3) They ran out of packing blankets inspite of the fact that i had given them a complete inventory of all items. Some of my stuff had to be moved without any packing 4) They got a truck that was half full.. hence they ran out of space and some of my big items were left out. Now i need to spend more money to move the remaining stuff 5) They arrived 3 hours late than the promised time of arrival. This delayed the entire move to very late in the night 6) They made me sign all papers before even unloading all stuff. Later on, i realized that some of my stuff went missing. And when i asked them about it, they stopped answering my calls!! PLEASE AVOID THEM AT ALL COST
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I had such a great experience with Champions Movers. I am so very pleased with the service and the special attention the drivers gave when they came to relocate me and also when they delivered to the end of my destination. This is the honest truth nothing was broken at all with the travel length of move from California to Maine.. Plus each and every item was accounted for. I really appreciate all their patience with a panicking first time mover. I called them many times and they were always ready to help. And gave me assurance. The team was very great in all aspects. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! =) Thank you Champions for such great service!

from my BBB submission- inaccurate estimates pertaining to minimum hourly charges (was told 3 hours, contract presented on moving day said 4 hours), driver was to have tools, but did not have tools to un-assemble and re-assemble furniture Champions Movers did not send me the required booklet that is to be sent to the customer -3 days- in advance of move, discussing insurance options and other stipulations required by California Law. Driver appeared with contract and booklet (explaining all of my rights), and highlighted areas for me to sign with no opportunity to read required information, basically relinquishing all of my rights to extra insurance (which their carrier requires 2 days advance order for ) and rights to be provided with this information and make an informed decision, right there on the spot. Movers damaged 2 items during the move, one of which was a very expensive Plasma TV (50") by putting it on it's side to wrap it I have been told that I waived any right to replacement when I signed the highlighted areas of the contract on moving day, which limits me to to 60 cents per pound insurance (approx $70), which I would have never agreed to had I gotten the California State Law required booklet mailed to me -before- the movers came that day (3 days before is the law to make sure the person moving understands their rights), rather than having the movers show up after they have violated the rule, then highlight an area for me to sign, not knowing what I'm signing. The movers in this case were deceitful, negligent in their care of the obviously fragile TV set, and suspect in this whole way of doing business.
SCAM / CRIMINAL MOVING OPERATION!

SCAM / CRIMINAL MOVING OPERATION! This moving company is under investigation by the government. They are part of a ring of rogue movers within the bay area. They quote low prices but then inflate the price of your move by 500-1000 percent by using a metric ton of unnecessary packing materials. They will demand payment before they unload your possessions at the new location. If you don't pay their inflated rate they take your possessions and auction them off. If you complain, they'll laugh at you and mock you. Champions Movers are a nightmare! Ultimate Moving Scam

Hiring this moving company was the worst mistake of my life. These people are professional SCAM ARTISTS. They will contract you for a low rate in the beginning and then end up charging you five times the original amount. But of course they only make you aware of this when they have your things in their possession, so you have no choice but to pay if you ever want to see your things again. Don't get backed into a corner like I was - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!
