I waited over a year for the delivery of my personal items in his possession. ASAP refused to write out a bill and demanded that I pay them in cash. Worse, they did not deliver all my possessions to me, including fine art valued at nearly $4,000. They did, however, deliver items that do not belong to me. I notified them of this and all he said was hold on to them. As for my fine art and other personal items, I've heard nothing, despite numerous calls to the Niles Police Department Consumer Fraud officer and Mr. Borohov. If you should have my fine art in your possessions, please return it to me. This man should be arrested for consumer fraud.

The day asap van lines came was the worst day of our lives. it was stressful and the people they sent could'nt have been more rude and careless. We were so disgusted and scared of the moving company we had to file a police report. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY IT IS A SCAM. A lawsuit should be filed.

The review below written by Mr. Brian S. who claims he moved with ASAP Van Lines back in December is fraudulent and was obviously posted by the mover themselves. This company's license to move household goods was revoked by the U.S. Government just weeks before his supposed move took place.

In December, we used ASAP Van Lines to move the furniture from my Mothers estate from Illinois to our home in Washington state. The service sounded great and we were curious to see how it would work and if everything would go smoothly. We couldn't have been more pleased. Our driver for the pick-up called to let us know he was coming and arrived right on time. He and the movers were courteous and efficient! The truck was in excellent condition and they were able to get in everything in just under 2 hours The truck arrived at our new home about a week later. Once again, the driver called first and was courteous and prompt. Our furniture was in great shape and we were spared the long drive and having to pack it all ourselves ASAP Van Lines provides a great service and is reasonably priced. We would highly recommend it to anyone planning a move or needing to move goods in an economical, efficient, and low stress way. Thank you, Brian S.

My daughter moved from Texas to Wisconsin and they gave her a low quote only to jake up the cost once they had her furniture. The cost was over twice the original amount . They were late and caused her an undue amount of inconvenience. They are unprofessional. This was a horrible experience for a young women who was moving for the very first time. These people should be run out of business - they are dishonest criminals. Shame on them!

There really should be a class action lawsuit against them--they say materials are included, then charge an extra 800. I was told I'd only be charged 600, but they told me they wouldn't deliver my furniture unless I paid it, then I could challenge it. When the delivered my furniture my FLAT SCREEN TV was MISSING. Oh, we forgot it, they said. It arrived two weeks later, completely broken. I paid 1200 for it, plus the 200 in packing. They offered me 100 total. The dispatchers strung me along for two months. Don't use them.

This move was a disaster. This is the worst moving company that I have ever dealt with. They tried to overcharge us after the initial estimate, and we had to get the sales company to tell them to lower the price back to the initial estimate. They charged us $200 for packing supplies after our goods were already pre-packaged. The delivery took 30 days from the pickup date. I had to pay for hotel rooms and then my family was forced to sleep on the floor of an empty apartment while we waited for you to deliver our goods. When the delivery arrived, they refused to correct the incorrect charges, or to issue any refund, and I had to over-draft my bank in order to pay them. The were in violation of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's regulations as far as delivering goods in a timely manner and didn't care when I brought it up. I am taking them to court, and recommend that, unless you are willing to risk being put in a similar situation, you avoid them and their unprofessional service.

They Make Their Money by LyingOverall Rating
Mover reviewed by Staton on 07/10/08

We don't have a lot of money, but we were not physically able to do the move to our new house by ourselves. After calling several different companies, we decided on ASAP because of their initial estimate. It was by far the cheapest estimate we received. There was no mention in any phone calls or emails about hidden packaging charges. All loose items and small items were boxed previous to their arrival. They boxed every little thing once they got to our house and charged us $15 a box. They boxed our end tables, some pillows, plastic picture frames-- everything! They even put our smaller boxes into their bigger boxes. They then decided to shrink wrap and tape all of our already taped boxes. My husband and I were preoccupied while they were doing all of this, and didn't notice what they were doing until it was too late. Once they gave us the bill, the packing charges were double the moving charges. They charged us $150 just for shrink wrap! This move was far more than we budgeted for, and I had to charge it all to my credit card. We called the manager before we paid, and they only took off $75 from an already too high bill. We then sent several emails to the company, explaining our frustration. We've yet to hear from them. Our next step will be to complain to the BBB. The movers were nice, they were just doing what I'm sure their shady boss told them to do- rip off the customer as much as possible.

i hired ASAp Van Lines, and from the beginning it was lies and promises. the movers showed up late, then they were rushing me and bossing me around in my own apartment about not to touch my own stuff or they will get confused (that should have gave me a sign right there), then the movers insisted that i give them a tip! They even demanded how much i should give. Then they claimed it was over the weight estimated, so that cost me another 1,200. they claim free wrapping, etc. but then they charge you for the materials??? they charged me 700.00 for the materials, they came to deliver my stuff, they had 4 missed appointment times in finally at 10;30 that night they showed up...Me and my family had to help them, then it wasn't even the people i hired back in chgo...that had me scared!!! What condition would my stuff be in?? Midway through the unloading there were 3 boxes that came out (they were clear totes) EMPTY!!! Even the guys who brought the stuff were scratching their heads...like why would you send empty totes across states like that with nothing inside, the duct tape used to hold the totes sealed was tampered with, and all the guys that delivered my stuff could say was that this was their first time touching these items, they received the truck earlier that day and have not been inside anything. i believed them, because the totes were way down in the middle of the truck, if these guys did it, then they would have had a lot of work to do putting back couches and other heavy items...?? But, who knows- the point is that ASAP Vanlines was hired to protect my goods and they did not do that, when i called to discuss the issue- one guy said "go ahead file a complaint- you have to PROVE that we stole your stuff-how do we know what you said was in those boxes, you can be lying for all we know?" I want to know who wants to file a class action lawsuit against this company!!!

We are a young couple who were on a very tight budget when moving ~ we even decided to leave some of the big stuff that we knew that we were going to need just so it would fit into our price budget. We had a quote from them that was around $1300 ... we knew it would go up a little bit but not like it did~ When they showed up to pack up our stuff they were late- everything after that wasnt bad until he started making us go over contracts and telling us we had to pay for all this plastic that they used and blankets. It was going to be like an extra $500 just for the packing materials, and the delivery could take up until 21 days. We called the main place while the guys were there and told them we cannot afford all these add ons ~ and we couldn't wait 21 days for our stuff the guy said that this move would go over $1500 and the latest it would be in florida was 7 days. We left the day after they did {which was jan 30} --- our stuff did not arrive in florida until the end of feb. Everytime we would call to find out what was going on with our stuff they were rude or had no idea what was going on~ they would hang up or just leave us on the phone and never come back to the line~ when they finally got here it was not ASAP Vanlines it was another company which i was not to happy about~ I gave them $700 the day they picked up and i had to give them $1500 the day the arrived because apparently our stuff overweighed. EVERYTHING WAS JUST NOT GOOD~ to save everyone that plans on moving the headache just DO NOT GO THREW THIS COMPANY (if thats even what you want to call it ~ they are a shady scam) they just scam you legally with contracts thats all...

Horrible Moving experience with ASAP Van LinesOverall Rating

I too went with this company for their quote which was $1k less than reputable United...bad idea! They did not mark boxes when Packing and loading. They left cigarette butts in upstairs bedrooms. When they came to deliver in TX, the movers rudely demanded $1200 from wife or he leaves (we already paid). People that delivered were different that packed and it was on different truck. I was told they had to transfer everything to another truck. It was raining that night so stuff was wet. This was not ASAP Van Lines people, they were a sub job outfit from Florida, called Spider Moving (or something like that). They were putting all boxes unmarked (which were most) in garage. The movers were also walking through mud and bringing it into house. I opened boxes as they came off moving truck to see where they should go because not marked or marked incorrectly. Two managers and unbelievably rude to us. They hired 2 guys from manual laborer agency and had them do the heavy lifting. None of these guys had professional equipment or possibly skill to move large items such as Armoire (broke it), buffet (broken leg). They refused to move bigscreen TV upstairs because they said it was to heavy? Had to pay professionals to move it the next day, not a problem. One of the hired "laborers" told me this was they most unprofessional moving company he has ever worked for and felt bad for me. He and other guy were taken advantage of. We were missing a couple boxes and have not located them to date (5 months since move). They hit me up for tip, which I gave but made sure I gave directly to the hired help because they would have pocketed it. I was concerned for safety and just happy they left and we had our stuff, some broken, some missing, but family was fine. When I called the following week to ASAP Van Lines in Skokie, the manager laughed and hung up the phone on me. Avoid these guys at all costs.

We tried to contact A.S.A.P. Vanlines numerous times. Phone numbers listed on these movers website were disconnected, on one occasion the “manager” hung up on me after laughing at her questioning about the missing DVD/VCR player, and messages were never returned. We were placed on hold for more than an hour on several occasions, after being re-routed and given the run around from multiple employees of A.S.A.P. A.S.A.P. quoted the price of our move at $1302 dollars, but then allegedly used $374 for moving supplies including $35 boxes and more than $100 dollars of shrink wrap and tape. A.S.A.P. refused to hand over our belongings until we paid this exorbitant amount in full. Upon arrival of our belongings to our new address, the movers claimed that they couldn’t fit their truck onto our street, which was clearly untrue. A passerby stopped to reprimand them for trying to extort additional money out of us, because their claim of insufficient room for their truck was so ludicrous. The movers said that they would require a “tip” if we wanted help moving our stuff up to our apartment, then increased the price of this “tip” repeatedly. In the end, we measured out a distance of 75 feet from their van on the street, and they put our belongings there in the middle of the street for us to move the rest of the way ourselves. When the movers handed over the entertainment center door, they commented that it must have gotten “too cold”. Our boxes were severely damaged, including the ones marked “fragile”. The corners were crushed, several of the boxes had been un-taped as if someone had rummaged through them, and it was clearly evident that our belongings had been treated with complete carelessness and neglect.

The pick up was good w/o any issues, but receiving was a terror. I requested the delivery to be on either on Friday/sat/sun being into consulting, I don't be at my home on the rest of the days. They promised me at the pick up. Also, they told me i would be receiving my stuff in a week and after calling them after 8 days, i came to know, my good haven't left from Skokie itself. Then the next day, (Tuesday) driver calls me up and asks me to be at my apartment on Wednesday which was hard for me, being away from home during weekdays. He said, if I don't be there, then he would take the stuff to Charlotte and i need to take care of stuff after that. and pay the storage costs/day. I drove 400 miles round trip that evening and night to my residence and before i could get there, he called me again to tell that he would be delayed by 4 hrs. I continued waiting on him until mid-night and then he calls and tells me that he is too tired to get there and he would come in the morning now. I expressed my issues to him that i need to be in the office under any circumstances in the morning, and it wont be possible for me to wait for him in the morning. While i was in the office the next morning, driving 200 miles, they called me again and warned if i don't get my stuff when they reach there, i will have to pay extra 550 bucks to get my stuff back/make my own arrangement to get it picked from the storage+pay the storage/day. I again drove 150 miles to get to my apartment and received the stuff. There 2 people, one driver and his counterpart. He dropped my 2 boxes and used bad words, cursing me all the time. I was scared to death, if i be rude with them, they might stab me in the wall. The fear didn't let me express my frustration. After they brought my stuff inside, banging each and everything on the floor with full force, the driver asked me for tip. I refused and his counterpart started cursing me again! I would want to warn people about this disastrous experience!

Don't be fooled by the low estimate...Overall Rating
Mover reviewed by Katie on 12/19/07

I chose this company because of the low estimate - several thousands of dollars less than the competition. There is a reason for that. They weigh your boxes, so if your mover guesses wrong or your inventory does not give them a clear idea of what you actually are moving, be prepared to pay way more. Be prepared to wait...a long time. My mover was three hours late, and since they sent ONE MAN to move an entire apartment consisting of a queen bed, washer and dryer, and more boxes than one should have, it took four hours to load the truck. My moving day was completely thrown off. To add to it, he came in a used former Value City moving van with an 8.5X11 inch piece of paper taped to the door that said "ASAP Moving..." Totally thought my stuff was going to disappear. Well, it kind of did. I moved to the coast, and it took 11 days to get my things. They came so far after the delivery date I was told, I had already started my new job and had to take off work on the third day I was there so I could meet the movers. And this mover came in a Penske truck with an ASAP magnet on the door. Again, they sent one man to do it all, so it took several hours. On top of all that, I was missing a large piece of artwork and a lamp. DO NOT use this company. They are not professional and they should not be in business.

Never called, I called them they told me it would be here on a Friday, and it never showed!!! I had to call them and find out where my stuff was after telling me they could not find THE TRUCK witch had all my stuff in it. Fianlly after calling 3 more times, they told me that the truck broke down and I would not get my stuff till the next day! When the truck arrived, the 2 guys told me that they were at the office when I was calliny.... HUMMMMM I was told the truck was on its way and it broke down!!! LYE!!!! Then when I got my stuff off the truck, My furiture (witch they had wrap) and picture was damage!!! The guy claiming to own ASAP in rude and a lier!!!! I have reported ASAP to the BBB and weight and measures of IL as well as the utility comm. People.. you need to stay away for these moving co. The ONLY thing that I can say good about it is that some of the GUYS doing the moves are VERY nice and outgoing!

I had a wonderful experience with this company. I did my research and picked them because they were a reasonable price and had good service. They sent me referral emails from other customers and gave me phone numbers to call. they picked me up on time and took a detailed inventory, which i got a copy of. I added a few boxes (10 or so) which I had not told them so when my weight was about 200 lbs over I want surprised. (10boxes x 20lbs=200 or so). The main gay, the foreman? also gave me a written reestimate before the move So I was aware. I understood about delivery times from actually reading my contract. I was delivered and my items were in good condition. I would, and have, recommended ASAP to many friends and family, all with good results.

I was very disturbed when I received emails from Max bad mouthing other companies. When I gave Max the name of the competition he had, he flipped out and started sending me emails, websites, and court cases about each company. He forgot got the job and focused on the downfall on other companies instead of highlighting his own company. I would not recommend this company to anyone. Dealing with Max is like dealing with children, they do not listen to you and they just focus on making their pockets bigger. I found this tactic to be very unprofessional.

I got a pleasant call from a man who's name I will not say. He was very professional and talked to me like he was my brother. We went over an inventory and I was very satisfied with the price. Actually, no other company came close! The horror began when I found out my weight was 900 pounds over what we discussed. I called back and he try to explain that I had items not on the inventory, that was why my price went up. Here was my problem, I sold my dinning set and my couch so I can buy new ones. I was told my stuff would not be delivered if I didn't pay almost $1200 more. He said they would re-weigh my order and surprisingly my weight decreased by 1100 pounds! My hearted raced when I saw the first price, and I thank God that there was a re-weigh. This is a nightmare no one needs to go through. I was very dissatisfied.
