Horrible Service, Lost Items, Damaged Property, MORE than Double of the EstimateOverall Rating

I had a horrible experience with Expediant Van Lines as well. In addition to more than doubling the cost of their initial quote (from $1, 047 to $2, 850 upon arrival at my space), they also "lost" a 52" flat screen HDTV, valued at $3, 500. Finally, when I did process my claim for lost items, they offered to compensate me $72 based on the weight of the TV. Beware of the Compensation Offer, read the fine print, and don't sign it unless its worth it. If you want to file a complaint, you can visit www.protectyourmove.gov and register with the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. Also, you can file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau at www.BBB.org although Expediant Van Lines already has a rating of "F"

OUR STUFF COULDN'T HAVE LOOKED WORSE IF THEY PULLED IT BEHIND THEIR RENTED VAN. NEVER GOT A STRAIGHT ANSWER. THE MOVERS NEVER DID WHAT THEY SAID THEY WOULD DO ABOUT LOST AND DAMAGED ITEMS.

Expediant Vanlines is All Victory Moving. google (e.g., http://www.apartmentstores.com/movers/all-victory.html & http://www.expediantmoving.com). I contracted move for $4100. My belongings were picked up 7/2/07. They stated I would receive shipment 7/16 w/ worst case scenario 7/24 (The policy states 21 days from set drop-off day. This was set on 7/3). On 7/2 George/David/Thomas arrived to pack & load. They were unprofessional/disorganized/careless in pack (packaged breakable things in between clothing vs packing it individually; randomly put kitchen stuff w/ bedroom stuff & desk stuff w/ kitchen stuff making it difficult to unpack; somehow packed roommate's belongings from another room; if forgot to pack something they hid it under roommate's bed). Most of belongings were packed when they raised estimate to $5300 inaccurately based on cubic feet, excessive # of boxes, & erroneous box type. They asked for tips: $300. If we didn’t comply w/ their demand, they said that they would play "football" w/ our belongings & not pack the stuff well so that it would break (then we would not be reimbursed for the full value of the broken items). One of the guys pretended to kick my cherished Sony TV commenting, "This is what we do to people who don't pay us." Of course we were intimidated & scared that our belongings would be destroyed. Afterwards, we were in fear of physical harm if we did not comply. George took me outside & showed us that he would "save us money" if we gave them tip. Finally, George threatened that I should not inform his managers of this b/c then the price would become even higher. Out of physical & financial intimidation, we gave $300, signed, & paid half of fee. Expediant failed to keep advertised offer of free month storage in San Jose & 10 free boxes. They denied use of sub-contractors for moves yet they sub-contracted East-West Moving Co. to deliver. They denied our right to weigh and didn’t reassemble furniture.
